The M&M’s of Brain Research: Find your sweet spot

There is so much information out there about brain research. How can you navigate what is relevant and valuable? These sessions use research–informed active learning strategies to enable the participants to articulate the meaning of terms used in brain research, differentiate the myths from truth, create mystery, and increase working memory. Then, considering how the brain makes meaning, the participants will explore and practice techniques they can bring back to the classroom.

Movement and reading? The combination does not seem to make sense, but the link is powerful! In this session, participants participate in the strategies that they can use in their classrooms. Dr. Lyding uses concrete, easy to use strategies to teach phonics, syllable types, vocabulary, and comprehension.
