Chat Stations

This is one of my favorite ways to get students up and moving while they are learning! Simply post pictures, questions, concepts, problems, around the room and have the students travel in a small group to discuss. This works for all ages. It creates a safe place to share. Making MAGIC

This freebie on Making MAGIC in the classroom was inspired by an article written about my mom. She was a second grade teacher, and the local paper wrote an article about her. The article ended with a statement from a parent who said, “There’s magic in this classroom.” That got me thinking about what makes a classroom magical. In this freebie, I use MAGIC as an acronym to remember research informed practices that are effective, fun, and magical. A BONUS recipe for the strategy Musical Chairs is also included. Enjoy!

The C in MAGIC stands for….

Connections! We know that connections are critical for learning, but how can we help students make those connections? Check out this recipe called Connect For...Deeper Learning. It is a fun way to help students actively engage in their learning.
